Hi! My name is Marlita Hill and I teach artists how their faith and art thrive together in church ministry and career life. I am the author of the book series, Dancers! Assume the Position. I produce a weekly podcast called The Kingdom Art Life, and I am the creator of a discipleship program called The Kingdom Artist Initiative, which teaches artists how to build harmony between their faith, art and career and live in confidence that their kind of art life is honoring God and leaving a Kingdom footprint in culture.
I am also a working artist. I have been a dancer, teacher, and choreographer for over 20 years. My art life started in ministry in 1993 with The Hush Company, a Los Angeles based dance ministry directed by Stacy Meadows and LaQuin Snowden. After 8 years there, I went on to earn my BFA in Dance Performance and Education (Towson University, MD), co-found a dance program at a performing arts high school in downtown Los Angeles (where I taught for seven years), and start my own dance company, Speak Hill Dance Project.
I have been blessed to provide master classes and residencies for colleges, lead workshops internationally, and have my books used as textbooks for college ministry courses, bible studies, and dance ministries.
